About Me

I am Tonya Isles, your candidate for City Council in Union City, GA.  I was born and raised in Gastonia, NC (a small town just outside of Charlotte) and have lived in the Metro Atlanta area for almost 20 years.

During the two decades since I graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.S. Industrial Engineering, I have worked for various manufacturing and distribution companies, so I definitely value and appreciate industrial and commercial development. However, I believe those facilities should be placed inside industrial parks and not in close proximity to subdivisions, schools, or dangerous intersections. It is for this reason that I have been a resident advocate and presented resident concerns to the incumbent mayor and council here in Union City.

Through my participation on the Union City Citizens Police Academy, I have a better understanding of the crime challenges our city faces. We need new elected officials who are committed to providing the very best quality of life for all residents. In order to do so, we need responsible development, reduced crime rates, job training programs, and a good sprucing up of our city’s appearance. If you vote for me, I will actively seek resident engagement and lead us on our journey to progress reimagined!
